Jay Brown: I don’t think Owen is an anti-Semitic. He just made a mistake.

Live broadcast on November 8th recently, Celtics player and vice chairman of the players’ union Jay Brown was interviewed by Boston Globe and talked about Owen who was banned for anti-Semitic behavior.

Brown said: “I don’t think Owen is an anti-Semitic, nor does the management of the players’ union. He just made a mistake. From the perspective of others, we all know how important intolerance of such incidents is, which is an extremely sensitive topic. We don’t want to support someone in order not to condemn hate speech, but I believe Owen is not an anti-Semitic. I hope the NBA will think the same.

“There is a difference between what people say orally and publishing links on social media without any description, which is very interesting. Some people think there is no difference, while others think there is a difference. There is no relevant explanation in the labor agreement and no rules for this matter. This is an unknown field for everyone. Everyone tries to find out the difference between the two.”
